"Certified Organic" means that the cotton is 100% chemical free and grown using only sustainable methods.  Organic cotton must be grown according to strict uniform standards that are verified by international organizations.

Certified organic cotton must meet stringent guidelines and be grown in fields which have been pesticide-free for a minimum of 3 years.
